It was the first time we had had the pleasure of Paul Taylor entertaining the Bootscooters and Friends, although only from the Liverpool area, he was just one of those acts that until recently didn't seem to stand out in a crowd.  Paul who until recently sometimes played as a duo Blue Rodeo, it has always been Paul singing on his own that has been a preference to myself.  His stage presentation is excellent and it is refreshing that his guitar playing is actually live and not mimed with backing tracks.  He is definitely a must for the linedancers as he sings practically all the up to date material and has the knack of suggesting dances to the more obscure tracks that he sings.

It was, as always a 'full house' - contrary to other socials, no food was provided by us although many did bring along their own.  We were fortunate to have a Charity 'Goodies' Stall selling a wide variety of sweets, cakes and biscuits, which went down extremely well with the majority buying several items. This will probably be a feature of future socials.

Our raffle took a different path to our previous ones with 'ALL CASH' prizes being up for grabs - anything from £25 down to £5 prizes.  It was nice to see it being won by our regular supporters - Bill also threw in 4 consolation prizes of Bootscooter cd's.

Big thanks must go to Hilary for running the Goodies stall, Chris for doing the door and selling raffle tickets and future social tickets, Bill for sorting the carpark & an unsung helper Elaine 'G' who rarely gets a mention, yet assists after every class and social in putting the tables and chairs back and sorting the room out - Many thanks to all those people.

Magill is the next social on Tuesday 3rd July, when we will have a red, white and blue theme.

Hope to see you all there.
